This is an online form for members of the Oakville Community to submit their nominations for the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame.

All qualified nominations received through online submission will be included into the final Proposed Nominations List. This list is then used by the OSHOF Nominations Committee for verification and screening into the final Inductee Nomination List. Voting takes place on all names included on the Inductee Nominations List to determine the final selection of up to 5 Inductees to the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame.

Selection Criteria:
  • The nominee must be recognized as having an Oakville connection by some or all of the following:
    • born in the Town of Oakville;
    • raised or spent their formative years in the Town of Oakville;
    • achieved their athletic prominence while living in the Town of Oakville;
    • brought pride to the Town of Oakville.
  • Nominations:
    • the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame Nomination Committee accepts nominations from anyone, anywhere, anytime.
  • There will not necessarily be an Award winner in every category, every year.
  • A maximum of five (5) Hall of Fame inductions will be made in an induction year.
  • A nominee may be in more than one Hall of Fame
  • An individual may be considered for induction in more than one category provided he/she meets the criteria.
  • There is no age factor.
  • There is no limit to the number of nominees each year.
  • A nominee whose name is not put forward for induction will automatically be considered in the following two induction cycles. If not successful in this period of time they must be re-nominated.
  • The Hall of Fame Committee reserves the right to reject nominations based on moral, criminal or ethical grounds.
  • Posthumous nominations are welcome
  • A nominee can be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame at any time. Not necessarily only after retirement but if an athlete has reached a very distinguished achievement or pinnacle, such as but not exclusive to a World Championship or Olympic Medal.
Definition of OSHOF Categories:
Athlete
  • Candidate shall have demonstrated outstanding achievement as an athlete in their specific field, or fields.
  • Candidate shall have brought honour to and fostered pride in the Town through their exceptional athletic achievements.
Builder/Contributor
  • Candidate will have consistently demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership to athletics or sport as officials, executives, trainers, coaches, administrators, media, teachers, volunteers, supporters, etc.
  • Candidate shall have brought honour to and demonstrated pride in the Town through his/her/their achievements.
Team
  • Represented a local club or sport organization within the Town of Oakville
  • Team achieved, at a minimum, National or International distinction
  • Its achievement was of historical significance to the Town of Oakville
  • The Team shall have brought honour to and demonstrated pride in the Town of Oakville
  • The Team must be recognized as an Oakville Team.
Delivery/Consideration of Nominations:
  • All nominations will be accepted at anytime however, they may not be considered for upcoming induction if inductees have already been selected in the year of induction recognition.
